Run in the city of freedom!

BROOKS, BE READY! About the campaign

CWe want as many people as possible to professionally prepare for the 42,195 m race. To this end, together with the technical partner of the Energa Gdańsk Marathon, Brooks, we will conduct a training campaign. Brooks Be ready! The campaign will begin 12 weeks before the start. Everyone registered for the Energa Gdańsk Marathon will receive a weekly training plan and the opportunity to participate in running training with highly qualified coaching staff. In weeks 1-6, there will be one training session per week (Sunday), while in weeks 7-12, there will be two training sessions per week (Wednesday and Sunday). Detailed information on the meeting points for training sessions will be provided the week before each training session.

Train with us in Gdańsk

In the 2027 edition, trainings Brooks Be Ready are held in Gdańsk. In Gdańsk, we meet at the Peperino restaurant (Hallera 280, near the Brzeźno pier), and on Wednesdays we meet at the GOKF stadium on Aleja Grunwaldzka in Gdańsk. Sunday training starts at 8:30 a.m., and on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Remember! Wednesday training will start in March! Sunday training starts in January 2027!

Your city can join the project!

As the organizers of the Energa Gdańsk Marathon, we want to be where the heart of Polish running beats.

We are closely monitoring the start lists. If we notice that a given location (not on the current list) has a large group of registered participants, we will take steps to open another training point there under the banner Brooks, Be Ready! x 4Run Trainer. Encourage your friends in your city to sign up – your attendance will determine where our trainers will appear next!

BROOKS, BE READY! 2027 – YOUR ROAD TO GDAŃSK

MAIN Trainings (Gdańsk, Warsaw): Full support 2 times a week (Sundays and Wednesdays).

PARTNER LOCATIONS (Kraków, Poznań, Piła, Lublin): Joint Sunday runs with top 4Run trainers.

OPEN LIST: Don't see your city? Don't worry! The more people from your region who sign up for the Energa Gdańsk Marathon 2027, the greater the chance we'll launch an official training group there.

HOW DOES IT WORK? We regularly analyze data from the registration system. If your city reaches a certain "marathon threshold," we'll send a coach there, designate a meeting point, and include you in the official preparation schedule!

Who is behind this?

Tthe runner preparing you for the Energa Gdańsk Marathon 2027 will be Marek Jaroszewski. A Polish athlete and runner who won the 2004 Houston Marathon with a time of 2:18:50, and set his personal best marathon time of 2:14:51 in Austin, USA, in 2003. You will meet Marek and his team during training and will be able to ask many questions about the details and issues related to the marathon and preparations.

Marek Jaroszewski - profile

K

When he decided to start his running adventure at the Gwardia Piła club in 1990, his coaches didn't give him a chance. He was too small, too skinny, and too slow, training with girls because he couldn't keep up with any of the boys. However, it never occurred to him to give up. On the contrary, he invested in himself, attending training camps, and observing how the best trained. In 1998, he was drafted into the army, but even that didn't stop him from continuing his training – he served at the Zawisza Bydgoszcz military sports club. And it was here that he had an epiphany – or maybe I'm not comfortable with the training profile? Inspired by his clubmates, he swapped the 3-kilometer steeplechase for marathon training. Four years later, he made his debut in Poznań, achieving seventh place. Years later, he would say that it was only there that he understood what it meant to run 42 kilometers. However, it didn't intimidate him; on the contrary, he decided to take on the challenge. Now he runs marathons all over the world and deeply believes he can be the best.
