On April 6, 2025, the royal 42,195-meter race returns to Gdańsk! The start and finish lines will be at the Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk. Registration for the Energa Gdańsk Marathon 2025 opens on Friday, November 8, at 6:00 PM.
It is worth hurrying, because the first 100 people can register at a promotional price of PLN 159, then until the end of December 2024 there will be a fee of PLN 189 for an individual start.
In addition to the individual competition, the marathon route will also be covered in a 4-person relay team, but that's not all - the accompanying events of the Energa Gdańsk Marathon 2025 will be a 5 km run and the Junior Energa Gdańsk Marathon, i.e. races for the youngest runners.
The start and finish of the event will be located at the Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk, which is known as one of the EURO 2012 arenas.
The marathon route is currently unknown due to arrangements with road authorities and the police, but the organizers intend for runners to see Gdańsk's most iconic landmarks during the run. The route will pass the European Solidarity Centre, the Gdańsk Shipyard gate, Gdańsk Old Town and Neptune, Ergo Arena, and Ronald Reagan Park.
At the beginning of 2025, a 12-week training campaign will begin Brooks, Be Ready! The goal is to prepare all interested participants for the race. Participation in the pre-race training sessions will be free for those who register for the Energa Gdańsk Marathon. In weeks 1-6, there will be one training session per week (Sunday), while in weeks 7-12, there will be two training sessions per week (Sunday and Wednesday).
The training sessions preparing for the start will be led by Marek Jaroszewski, Polish athlete whose distinguished career includes winning the 2004 Houston Marathon with a time of 2:18:50. Marek Jaroszewski's marathon personal best is 2:14:51, achieved in Austin (USA) in 2003.
Additionally, the Energa Gdańsk Marathon website (gdanskmaraton.com) will feature training plans prepared by Marek Jaroszewski for the 12 weeks of preparation (from January 12 to April 6, 2025). The plans will be designed with the goal of achieving a 3:30:00 or 4:30:00 goal.
