One of Poland's largest energy companies, Energa SA, has become the title sponsor of the Gdańsk Marathon, which will return to the city streets after a two-year hiatus on April 6, 2025. During a press conference at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk, attended by Gdańsk Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz and Energa SA CEO – Sławomir Staszak, the route and details of accompanying events were presented.
The Energa Gdańsk Marathon 2025 will be held under the slogan "Run in the City of Freedom!". Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk will be the start and finish line, and the route will lead past the most important and interesting places in the city.
– I'm thrilled to see the return of the Royal Distance to Gdańsk and very happy that the event has such a reliable partner. This is an excellent example of corporate social responsibility. I thank the CEO of Energa and hope this will be a long-term partnership. We all want this to be a recurring event. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you on the marathon route – I'll definitely be cheering you on. – said the mayor of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz.
– We want to promote the city of Gdańsk as a space conducive to a healthy lifestyle and physical activity. The marathon is the culmination of many months of preparation, but the accompanying events are equally important to us: children's races, a 5k run, and a relay race. The Gdańsk Marathon route is exceptionally interesting and attractive. It showcases the city's diversity, leading through its most distinctive and symbolic landmarks – from our amber Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk stadium, through the European Solidarity Centre, to the Old and Main Towns. It's a unique journey through Gdańsk's history and present day. – the president emphasized Dulkiewicz.

In addition to the competition over the royal distance of 42 km and 195 meters, during the April running festival in Pomerania you will be able to take part in 4-person relay races, a 5-kilometer run and the Energa Junior Energa Gdańsk Marathon at distances adapted to the age of the participants.
– Our collaboration with the Gdańsk Marathon fits perfectly with this year's "Energa Include" campaign, which not only promotes sports, but also contributes to activating the local community and fostering a sports culture. The values developed during marathon preparations—perseverance, determination, and consistency—are also reflected in our business culture. As a Gdańsk-based company, we want to actively participate in city life, promoting positive initiatives and co-creating a friendly environment for residents. – said the president of the management board of Energa SA Sławomir Staszak.
– I'm thrilled to have added this event to my running calendar. I'm already preparing and can't wait to meet all the participants at the start. I gratefully accept the race pack with number 1 – it's an incredible honor and a dream come true for every marathon runner. However, I've decided to take this opportunity to donate this prestigious number to the auction as part of the upcoming Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. – added the president Staszak.
